Score 94/100 · Drink 2021-2028, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2022

With a kiss of volatility on the nose, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon offers generous and layered aromas of juicy black fruit with hints of dusty redcurrant with blackberry jus. Full-bodied, the tannins are still ripe with a firm layer of present oak that sways with a delightful hint of herbaceous character that pairs beautifully with the generous and juicy nature of the wine. Succulent acidity and fine-grained tannins linger on the elongated finish as flavors of bitter black tea and blackberry skin persist with a youthful gleam. It will continue to age beautifully for years to come.

(80% from estate fruit): Bright ruby-red. Dark berries, licorice, cocoa powder, sexy oak spices, violet and tea rose on the nose and palate, along with a dusty minerality. Plush, pliant and sweet, with terrific concentration leavened by attractive floral lift. The superb, dry, slowly mounting finish features sweet tannins and terrific persistence. This has all the elements for a slow and graceful evolution in bottle but it makes for a pleasurable drink already. The best wine yet under Drew Bledsoe’s label, vinified by Bledsoe’s old high school buddy Chris Figgins.
