Good deep red. Reticent nose hints at strawberry, underbrush and smoky oak. A bit sullen in the mouth, hinting at sweet red fruits but showing some rather raw oak notes that have the upper hand today. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins. I'd be more optimistic about the future of this wine if I was more confident about the quality of the oak component.

Here there is much better integration of the wood with a gorgeous range or red and blue fruit aromas nuanced by game, hints of spice and underbrush that can also be found on the rich, full and generous medium plus weight flavors that possess an attractive texture on the deep and harmonious finish. This is a really lovely effort that has ample aging potential. Allen Meadows, Burghound.com
