2010 Moone-Tsai Chardonnay

(made from 25-year-old vines at 1,600 feet on Mt. Veeder, straddling the Napa/Sonoma line; barrel-fermented, then aged in 50% new oak): Good full yellow with a green tinge. Aromas of mirabelle, orange, spices and medicinal herbs. Soft, plush and surprisingly dry, with a distinctly savory character to the flavors of yellow fruits, spring flowers and spices. A tad warm on the back end but there's a low enough pH here for the wine to retain energy.
