Lastly, the 2021 Anacapa checks in as a mix of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot aged in new barrels. Its deeper ruby/plum hue is followed by a rockingly good nose of cassis, raspberries, smoked tobacco, and spring flowers. It's beautifully balanced, has fine tannins, and a great finish. This Saint-Julen look-alike will evolve for at least two decades.

The 2021 Anacapa is Rusack's Bordeaux blend. The blend of varieties and sites works quite well here. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, licorice, spice and menthol build as this resonant, inviting red shows off its considerable charm.
