45% Malbec, 35% Petit Verdot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich and chocolatey and creamy. Packed with baked red and black berries, bit of char and coffee. Bear-like tannins. Some heat here – feel a bit higher than 14.5%. Burly. (TC)

The 2014 Dragon's Tooth is a blend of 45% Malbec, 35% Petit Verdot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is black/purple in color with an interesting nose of charcoal, blueberry and plum. The wine tastes more like a Petite Sirah--super-intense, monolithic, but concentrated and powerful. I suspect 5-7 years of aging will reveal significantly more charm and character than it’s showing right now, but this is a big, backstrapping, massively rich wine. Forget it for 4-5 years.
