Light chartreuse. Mineral-accented nectarine, orange, Anjou pear, iodine and jasmine on the intensely perfumed nose. Smooth, fleshy and focused in the mouth, offering concentrated orchard and citrus fruit and white peach flavors that are complemented by suggestions of fennel, sweet butter and vanilla. Shows excellent depth as well as energy, and finishes minerally, smoky and impressively long, featuring lingering citrus and pit fruit notes.

The single vineyard 2018 Chardonnay Soberanes Vineyard is also beautiful but has a slightly more steely, tight, backward vibe. White flowers, crushed rocks, white peach, and white currant notes define the bouquet, and it’s medium-bodied and balanced, with a lengthy mineral-laced finish. Give bottles a year or two.
