This delicious relic, actually almost deep rosy gold rather than white, was labelled with Haut-Barsac as its appellation and H Gounouilhou as the owner. Even a dreg in the decanter five days later was wonderfully sweet, almost candified.  Candied orange peel? Still lovely freshness and medium body and intensity. It was not exceptionally sweet and did not linger that long but was a triumph of longevity.   (JR)

Barley sugar colour: brownish tawny. Freshness on the nose and then lovely balance and great energy and sweetness and density. Long, Reverberant. Very slightly dry end. (JR)
