Score 95/100 · Drink 2027-2045, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Feb 2025

Crafted by veteran Napa winemakers Bill and Dawnine Dyer, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Perseid originates from proprietor Barry Shuler's Coombsville vineyard. Scents of cassis, blueberry, pencil shavings and crushed stone emerge on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is smooth and streamlined, framed by silky tannins that linger easily on the long, mouthwatering finish. It's a terrific value in an age-worthy Napa Cab, but only 250 cases were produced.

Full bottle 1,380 g. Fruit from Coombsville. Aged 22 months in French oak, 70% new. 250 cases produced. Inky purple in colour. Ripe blackberry and plum on the nose with gravel and a kiss of brambly green. The fruit is nice and dense with mouth-watering long acidity – even for an acid lover it’s a touch too much as it outlasts the fruit on the finish. Still, the aromas and character of the fruit are lovely and I do think the acid will mellow given another year. (SCJ)
