Offering up plenty of ripe red and black berry-like fruits as well as spicy oak, graphite, and chocolate, the 2020 Clos Dubreuil is medium to full-bodied, has a supple, elegant, layered texture, plenty of tannins, and a great finish. It has the vintage's pure, concentrated, yet elegant character front and center. It's going to evolve for two decades.

The 2020 Clos Dubreuil has a beautifully composed bouquet: a mixture of red and black fruit, crushed violet and peony that is exuberant and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It's silky smooth with a cohesive and utterly charming finish that is pastille-like on the aftertaste. Superb.

The 2020 Clos Dubreuil is a dense, heady wine. Super-ripe red cherry, blood orange, spice, white chocolate and sweet French oak give this racy Saint-Émilion its immediate, flamboyant personality. I would give the 2020 a few years to soften, as some edginess remains in the tannin. Even so, Clos Dubreuil is one of the more overt Saint-Émilions readers will come across.
