Based on 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc and aged 20 months in 40% new French oak, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers terrific aromatics as well as tons of character. Cassis and currant fruits intermixed with savory flowers, saddle leather, and cedar pencil nuances all emerge from the glass. It's medium to full-bodied, has the structure and tannic grip of the vintage, terrific balance, and a great finish. Give bottles 2-4 years if you can and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink 2027-2047.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon under Heidi Barrett's La Sirena label features classic leafy notes, cassis, red and black cherries, plus a hint of vanilla. It's full-bodied, expansive and velvety, framed by plush tannins that linger on the finish. A blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, aged 20 months in 40% new French oak, like so many of Barrett's Cabernet Sauvignons over the years, it stands out for its intrinsic balance and overall sense of elegance rather than overwhelming power.
