Score 87/100 · Drink 1995-2010, Robert Parker, Feb 1993

The 1988 has excellent depth and fullness, with a spicy, earthy, rich bouquet filled with aromas of licorice, plums, spices, new oak, and subtle herbs. Exceptionally concentrated, with sound acidity and moderate alcohol, this beautifully made, complex wine should reach maturity by the mid-nineties and last through the first decade of the next century.
