(55 percent whole clusters and 33 percent new oak) Lurid ruby-red. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red and dark berries, Asian spices and candied flowers, and a mineral nuance adds vivacity. Sappy, sweet and penetrating on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and floral pastille flavors joined by hints of star anise and vanilla that build slowly on the back half. Smooth and seamless in texture, showing superb finishing energy, fine-grained tannins and great persistence.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Mysterious comes from the Dundee Hills; it includes 55% whole cluster fermentation and was matured in 33% new oak barrels. It has a very perfumed bouquet with blueberry and redcurrant aromas given lift by the new oak, a touch of sous-bois developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, quite sensual in the mouth thanks to its silkiness, very cohesive with cranberry, wild strawberry and a pinch of black pepper. It feels so lithe with a persistent finish that lasts 30 seconds. Like many to their 2014s, I love the purity here and it should give a decade's worth of pleasure, possibly more.
