100% Pinot Noir. Harvested from 29 August to 10 October. Pre-fermentation cold soak for three to five days, followed by fermentation with malolactic conversion for 14 days in open-top concrete and stainless steel prior to basket-pressing. Aged for 10 months in French oak, 30% of which was new. Bottled on 11 August 2020. RS 1 g/l, TA 5.29 g/l, pH 3.67. Total SO 2 33 mg/l, free SO 2 9 mg/l. Vegan. Pale ruby. Not a trace of blue! A little sweet and definitely vegy at the same time on the nose. Good balance and nothing too heavy. Well bought. GV (JR)

The 2019 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a soft, fruity wine to drink young, while the flavors remain bright. Juicy dark cherry, plum, spice and dried flowers are pushed forward.

The base appellation 2019 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is outstanding, offering lots of spiced red fruits, underbrush, and peppery stem notes in a medium-bodied, clean, classy, balanced style. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years or so.
