(aged for 11 months in 10% new French oak; from the estate's Stoney Vine vineyard in the Rocks district, co-owned with Dusted Valley; vinified with 50% whole clusters): Healthy dark red. Aromas of smoked meat, mocha and crushed stone. Fat and sweet but savory too; bit but not heavy. In a very saline style. The serious tannins turn a bit dusty on the aftertaste. This wine always has a high pH; here it's 4.2 but with decent acidity. Long on personality but fans of primary fruit should look elsewhere.

A blend of 100% Syrah, the 2013 Syrah The Psychedelic is a sensational effort that comes all from the Stoney Vine Vineyard in Walla Walla, which is in the Rock region. It offers lots of mulled black fruits, olive, smoked duck and lavender nuances to go with a full-bodied, hedonistic, big, ripe, hedonistic personality that never comes across as over the top or heavy. Replacing the Funkadelic release, enjoy this beauty through 2023.
