Score 93/100 · Drink 2019-2033, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Feb 2019

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Point Vineyard is made of 100% Cabernet aged 20 months in 44% new French oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes bounding out of the glass with notes of crushed blackberries, plum preserves, bay leaves, forest floor and tapenade plus suggestions of tobacco, cloves and tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is filled with lovely rounded, approachable tannins and bags of black fruits, lifted by a refreshing backbone and finishing long and mineral laced. 408 cases produced.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Point Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes from a higher elevation vineyard in the Alexander Valley and was fermented in oak uprights and aged all in barrel. It’s another beautiful wine from this producer that has classic black and blue fruits, hints of graphite, bay leaf, sage and lead pencil, medium to full body, light tannin, and a balanced, elegant profile. Drink it anytime over the coming 15 years of so. Stonestreet falls under the Jackson Family umbrella and focuses on higher elevation, mountain sites. The wines, made by Lisa Valtenbergs, are rock-solid across the board.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Point Vineyard is wonderfully fresh and energetic. Mocha, lavender, mint and savory herbs give the wine striking aromatic intensity that complements the inky, blue-toned fruit. Understated, elegant and polished, the 2015 is simply on point.
