Tasting notes
Score 94/100 · James Suckling, Jan 2019

Offers dried-mushroom, terracotta and light tarry notes, as well as a wealth of dried mixed berries. The palate has a savory edge with a core of sweet dried berries and sweetly ripe tannins. This has impressive poise and will drink well over the next decade.

Score 88/100 · Drink 2013-2014, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2009

The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is made in a soft, opulent style. Plums, raisins, chocolate, sweet spices, new leather and flowers emerge from this round, velvety Brunello. The finish is long, sweet and polished. This is another of the more accessible wines in this vintage, and it appears to have enough stuffing to drink well for at least another few years, although it is unlikely to develop any real complexity.
