Score 94/100 · Drink 2027-2037, Matthew Luczy, Wine Advocate, Nov 2025

Sourced from the rockiest parcel in the Tyler Pinot Noir lineup, the 2023 Pinot Noir Bentrock Vineyard is the most tense and introverted example of the variety in the cellar, opening with a tense, spice- and stone-driven bouquet that gradually adds floral dimension in the glass. The texture is racy, sleek and fast-moving on the palate, framed by invigorating acidity and underpinned by a tensile, mineral-driven core. It concludes with a grippy, stern finish that will benefit from time to soften and congeal.

Tension and minerality are on full display in the 2023 Pinot Noir Bentrock Vineyard. A wine of notable power, it's brooding and a little grumpy today, but time will turn that frown upside down and allow the 2023 to reveal its inner charms. Marine elements emerge clearly, framed by a formidable architecture of persistent tannins. In 2023, the Bentrock demands patience.
