Scents of seed-tinged apple, fennel seed and parsnip anticipate the most prominent flavors as well as the pronounced piquancy featured on a subtly oily and expansive palate. There is a formidable impression of chalk suffusion allied to palpable extract-richness, albeit without the active, diverse sense of mineral interaction exhibited by the corresponding Mandelberg, or that wine’s mouthwateringly carnal savor. The bittersweet finish is seriously sustained and multilayered, though it harbors a bit of heat.

Made in stainless steel. No oak for their Pinot Blancs. So perfumed! Almost incense-like. White and golden peaches and currants shot through with root-ginger warmth and sweet citrus acidity and poached apricots yet dry on the finish. Some beautiful citrus-rind bitterness just threading through the seams. So complete. I did not want to spit this. Long, reverberating, joyful hallelujah-chorus of a wine. (TC)
Stunning, ripe, sliced-pear nose. In spite of the ripeness, the combination of concentration and elegance is fabulous. Very long, subtle, chalky finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Respekt certified. Drink or hold.
