2021 Lillian Syrah Santa Barbara

The 2021 Syrah is a blend from White Hawk and Bien Nacido. It's a gorgeously elegant wine that oozes finesse. Pure, clearly articulated berries and violet florals sizzle out of the glass, revealing layers of charcuterie, exotic spice, tar, white smoke and oil-cured olive, all wrapped in a supremely seamless, gossamer frame. An epically long, bitter-cherry-skin finish leaves the palate soaked in concentrated intensity without an iota of excess weight. The filigree, detailed tannins are beautifully sketched. Wow.
