2022 Enz Mourvedre

The 2022 Mourvèdre Bailey Ranch Vineyard is spicy, with a cascade of rose petals, dried citrus rinds and ground cloves complicated by hints of flowery underbrush. This is soothingly round with a balanced inner sweetness, casting juicy red berry fruits across a stream of brisk acidity, as hints of blood orange embellish the close. This tapers off with outstanding length, mixing sour cherries with blackberries and sweet spice, all over a bed of gently grippy tannins. It’s rare to find a varietal Mourvèdre with this level of energy and balance. Beautifully done.
