A juicy, delicious, and forward wine, the 2023 Prélude à Grand-Puy Ducasse offers tons of charm and character in its juicy berries, leafy herbs, violets, and spicy wood-driven aromatics. Based on 64% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot and aged 14 months in 15% new French oak, it's medium-bodied, with juicy acidity, and has a delicious style that will drink nicely for a decade. Drink 2026-2036.

The 2023 Prélude à Grand-Puy Ducasse is a fine second wine from the château. It offers terrific fruit density and tons of stylish charm. Floral top notes and bright acids lift a core of red-toned fruit in this sleek, mid-weight Pauillac.

Slim black fruits through the mid palate, grilled black pepper and dried herbs, a big difference in structure from the 1st wine in the vintage, feels like skirting full ripeness. The new cellar at Grand-Puy Ducasse was ready for the 2023 vintage after almost 10 years of work.
