Note: from a .20 ha parcel of vines planted in 1999. Cool and elegant aromas of honeysuckle, spice, orange peel, exotic tea and a plenitude of floral elements are trimmed in admirably discreet wood. The exceptionally rich and quite generously proportioned flavors possess a plush but decidedly punchy mouthfeel while maintaining equally good balance on the beautifully long finale. The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru sported quite a lot of reduction on the nose when I tasted it from barrel. I would just like to see more mineralité come through here. The palate is fresh on the entry, taut at first with fine acidity, weight and sapidity, and a lightly spiced finale. Fine, though it doesn't quite deliver the intellectual complexity of this great Premier Cru.(NM)
