Score 92/100 · Drink 2027-2031, Eric Guido, Vinous, Apr 2026

The 2022 Hell's Kitchen entices with a vivid blend of plum sauce, brown spice and grilled herbs. It is velvety in feel, with fresh acidity to balance as mineral-infused black fruits saturate under an air of cola. This leaves a beguiling olive and bitter dark chocolate tinge while tapering off in a structured yet still lively way.

A blend of 48% Syrah, 36% Graciano and 16% Grenache, aged for 16 months in 29% new French oak, the 2022 Hell's Kitchen leads with dried leather, dark chocolate and cherry liqueur aromas. The palate is plump and straightforward in texture, leading to a simple, slightly powdery finish driven by toasty, oak-influenced flavors and ripe red fruits.

A blend of 48% Syrah, 36% Graciano, and the rest Grenache, the 2022 Hell's Kitchen is deep ruby/plum-hued with a beautiful array of blackberries, peppery herbs, savory spices, and saddle leather. It's complex, medium to full-bodied, textured, and has a great finish. I love it. The 2022 is all from the Jada Vineyard in the Willow Creek District in Paso Robles and spent 16 months in 29% new French oak.
