Score 92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2006

Deep, musky, leesy aromas of pear, apple, peach, oatmeal and earth. Offers concentrated fruit flavors of peach, apricot and lemon, with strong but well-integrated acidity leavening the impression of volume. Fine finish mounts slowly and lingers impressively. This is 13.8% alcohol without chaptalization, says Michel Colin, who bottled his 2004s in December of 2005 after leaving them in cuve for three months.

(Michel's wine is from his father-in-law George Deleger's holding) Lime and crushed stone on the nose, along with a whiff of sulfides common to young wines from Michel Colin. With its terrific stony cut and lemony acidity this shows superb energy but comes across as drier than the Demoiselles. A bit less expressive today and tighter and oakier on the aftertaste.
