Score 86/100 · Drink 2007-2012, Robert Parker, Aug 2007

Foxen’s 2005 Pinot Noirs are more restrained, streamlined, and neither as powerful nor impressive as their 2004s, but they will be admired by those looking for more subtlety and elegance. Displaying a medium to dark ruby color, the 2005 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard possesses more earth, underbrush, and spice characteristics along with some background notes of fresh mushrooms, cherries, and herbs. Medium-bodied with tart acidity and a clipped, compact finish, it is best drunk over the next 4-5 years. Tel. (805) 937-4251
