The 2021 Meursault Village sports a pleasant reduction on the nose, saline and marine-influenced with a touch of shucked oyster shell. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, sour lemon and orange rind, moderate depth with a straightforward finish. Just a tad short.

The 2021 Meursault Village offers up aromas of pear, orange oil, mint and nutmeg, followed by a medium-bodied, satiny and lively palate. There's no Vendanges Sélectionnées cuvée this year, so everything will appear under this label.

1 ha (2.5 acres) divided across three parcels, all below the Santenots vineyard. No new wood, 350-litre barrels. Cask sample. Mid lemon. Apple, citrus, mature orchard fruits. Rich and quite buttery on the palate – although no offending oak. Full, mature, old school. Very balanced. (MH)
