The 2015 Chassagne Montrachet comes from two vineyards. It has a light leesy, brioche-tinged bouquet that is pretty rather than powerful. The palate is well balanced with good weight in the mouth, although I would be seeking a little more mineralité and complexity to develop on the finish.

Two vineyards towards Bâtard. Smoky nose and lots of grapefruit. Crisp and precise with lots of chew. Still-chewy end. Wait! (JR)

Aromas of lemon, lime and white flowers, plus hints of apple and lees from this wine's later malolactic fermentation. Shows good energy for 2015, with a slight tartness to its citrus-dominated flavors. Conveys an early-picked character. (Incidentally, the estate's Clos du Château de Puligny-Montrachet (87-88), a Bourgogne from a walled vineyard next to the château that's located just outside the Puligny-Montrachet village appellation, also showed lovely citricity and fruit concentration.)
