Score 92/100 · Drink 2018-2022, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2018

(13.2% alcohol): Pale, slightly hazy amber-red. Sexy aromas of strawberry, cherry, underbrush, mocha and warm spices; still plenty of red fruits remaining. Totally mature but evolving in a harmonious Burgundian way and not really showing maderization notes. This rather silky midweight still displays surprisingly fresh acidity, which energizes the mature red fruit and underbrush flavors without introducing any edginess or tartness. Boasts lovely elegance and inner-mouth perfume, not to mention noteworthy fruity persistence and grip. A lovely California Pinot at age 30!
