Score 96/100 · Drink 2027-2047, Jeb Dunnuck, Jul 2025

The 2023 Pinot Noir The Coast is dark red in color and is ripe with cherry liqueur, wild raspberries, wild sage, lavender, and dark stones. The palate is full-bodied but has a fantastic texture and a mouthwatering and stony finish. It’s another structured and well-detailed wine that I expect to only improve over the coming 8-10 years. Drink 2027-2047. Founded in 2007, the Boars' View estate was planted by Ulises Valdez with the help of Thomas Rivers Brown, in the same geological bowl as Marcassin in Fort Ross-Seaview. The nine acres of the property planted to vines are mostly Pinot Noir, with a small amount of Chardonnay. The wine style is a significant departure from the supple and elegant wines of Rivers Marie in that they are modeled after the aesthetic of Schrader’s style of Cabernet. These are brawny wines with a more obvious stamp of oak influence and opulence and are reflective of their more mountainous, coastal terrain. The 2023 vintage highlights the the more sauvage and savory elements of this site with fantastic clarity.
