Certified organic. Cask/tank sample. Bright lightish crimson. Fragrant, a touch stemmy but better balance between fruit and stems here compared with the Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge Le Clou. Light-bodied, chalky, fresh. A decent result in the context of the vintage. Dry, very fine tannins. (JH)

The 2024 Beaune Les Vignes Franches 1er Cru comprises three barrels this year, 50% whole bunch. This has another fragrant and focused bouquet with desiccated rose petals again infusing the red berry fruit, all with wonderful delineation. The palate is medium bodied with finely sculpted tannins, this cuvée conveying a sense of symmetry. Very long tail on the finish, this is a very fine Beaune.
