Drink 2028-2038, FINE+RARE, Nov 2025

The fruit for this cuvée comes from one parcel which straddles the Basses Maizières and Vigneux leiux-dits, which sit below Suchots. The 2024 Vosne-Romanée is deeper-pitched and more structured than the Chambolle, yet remains resolutely elegant and very well balanced. Aromas of dark berries, ripe cherries and plum unfold with precision, lifted by subtle mint, peppery spice and a clean, crystalline profile that speaks clearly of Vosne. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, layered and charming, with a fleshy yet controlled texture. Fine-grained tannins frame the fruit beautifully, giving shape and great character without heaviness. A gentle saline note enhances freshness through the mid-palate, carrying into a long, precise and finely spiced finish. A polished, expressive Vosne-Romanée that combines immediate appeal with real depth and definition.

The 2024 Vosne-Romanée Village is the one cuvée that felt a bit out of sorts on the nose, a bit earthy and lacking real cohesion compared to previous vintages. The palate is quite structured with crunchy dark berry fruit, very linear in style but just missing the silkiness one seeks in a Vosne-Romanée on the finish.

Enough wood to notice frames spicier aromas of dark currant, exotic tea and violet nuances. There is fine mid-palate concentration to the delicious and punchy flavors that conclude in a firm but mildly edgy finish. This may better harmonize once it's been bottled but today it's somewhat awkward.Drink 2032+
