The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is a beautiful, ripe, full-bodied effort that gives up classic notes of black currants, toasted spices and roasted meats in its layered, still youthful personality. It drops off slightly on the finish but is still an impressive, long, layered Chateauneuf du Pape to drink over the coming 5-6 years.

Wow. A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, the 2007 Mas de Boislauzon Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a screaming value and offers up knockout kirsch, licorice, roasted meat and garrigue aromatics. It’s ripe, fresh and already showing solid complexity. The palate is full bodied with serious fruit, a savory, rich texture and a long, edgy finish. This is a noticeable step up from previous vintages of this wine and is an outstanding value! At the price, don’t miss this wine. Given the balance and structure, I think this should have a long drinking window.
Vivid ruby. Cherry, lavender and incense on the nose. Silky in texture and packed with sweet red fruit flavors, with complicating notes of candied flowers and five-spice powder. A tangy and strikingly pure Chateauneuf with very good finishing thrust and persistent mineral character. And drinkable already.
