First made in 2006 and coming from sandy soils, the 2022 Quella is always one of the prettier, more elegant wines in the BOND lineup. It offers red and black fruits, savory herbs, cedar pencil shavings, and hints of leather. Medium-bodied and quite pretty on the palate, it has fine tannins, nice balance, and outstanding length. This charming, mid-weight effort should have 10-15 years of longevity. Drink 2025-2040.

The 2022 Quella is a deep, powerful wine with strong bass and earthy notes that lend a distinctly savory character. Firm tannins need a few years to soften, but I expect the 2022 will always be a rather virile, imposing Quella. Sage, rosemary, lavender, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco build into the potent, structured close.
Deep ruby. Rich black-cherry nose infused with willow bark and mint. Fine, lithe tannin and a lean line of acidity. Lovely balance. Concentrated with an earthy sapidity that lingers on the finish. It has a nip of bitterness that the other BOND bottlings don’t. (SCJ)
The 2022 Quella is a powerful, deep wine. Dark red-toned fruit, rose petal, mint, spice, lavender and graphite lend notable exuberance and raciness. Potent large-grained tannins are nicely framed in this deep, resonant Quella. The second year of aging will be critical here.
