Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2038, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2023

Based on 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and a splash of Merlot, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Peak is a similar deep purple hue and has lots of cassis, graphite, and darker herb notes in a more medium-bodied, concentrated, elegant style. It doesn't have the density and concentration of the Edcora Vineyard release, but it s beautifully balanced, has fine tannins, and terrific purity. Drink bottles over the coming 10-15 years.

A blend of two sites—Attelas and Edcora—the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Peak is dark and concentrated in the glass, with hints of cedary, vanilla-tinged oak accenting black cherries and cassis. On the medium to full-bodied palate, there's an earthy, savory undercurrent, which imparts balance and complexity to the upfront fruit, and the wine finishes pleasantly dry and lingering, with just enough soft tannin to provide needed structure.
