Score 96-98/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, May 2026

Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Le Dôme is the more Cabernet Franc-driven effort in the lineup from Maltus, coming from seven hectares of vines near the château and close to Angélus. It has a pure, inward, structured nose of cassis, liquid violets, chocolate, and smoky tobacco, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a dense, concentrated mouthfeel, building tannins, and a great finish. The cellar is going to be your friend, but it's going to be worth it.

Le Dome

The man behind highly regarded Saint-Émilion wine Le Dôme is a Nigerian-born Brit who sold his engineering firm in 1992 to move to Cahors and restore a pile of ruins. After meeting a local vineyard owner at a dinner party, he ended up selling his production to Oddbins and was caught by the wine bug.
