Score 84/100 · Neal Martin (Vinous), May 2023

The 1988 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is very tertiary on the nose. Touches of melted tar and mushroom obscure whatever fruit is extant. There are traces of tomato vine. The palate is undoubtedly rustic and angular, with some drying tannins on the rather astringent finish. Past its best. Tasted at the Les Amoureuses vertical at Hide restaurant.
