Score 92/100 · Neal Martin (Vinous), Jul 2022

The 2019 Il Pino di Biserno is gracious and elegant. The style is much fresher and understated than before. Silky tannins wrap around a core of dark fruit, mocha, spice, licorice and incense. Dark and vibrant in the glass, the 2019 is another winner from Lodovico Antinori.

Evocative blackcurrant fruit with vivid leafiness – combines excellent ripeness with great varietal typicality. Dry, firm tannins and a big burst of acidity on the finish. Tangy, resonant, persistent. Drinkable now, although greater rewards await. (RH)
