Firm but a bit low key on the nose. And really rather dry and demanding on the finish. A little more fruit please! (JR)

The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Chenevottes has a refined bouquet in the making: touches of marmalade and quince joining the citrus fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin. It comes across as being a little austere at first, but it branches out nicely with lime and orange rind notes. There is moderate weight in the mouth, while it remains a little conservative on the finish. It may warrant a higher score after bottling - this may have been nervous on the day.
