Tasting notes
The 2023 Mauro comes from Castilla y León and was aged 15 months in barrel and foudre, 15% new. Red fruit, herbs, white pepper and subtle pyrazine notes define the nose. Plush tannins frame a palate that remains energetic and focused despite its richness. The finish combines fruit and spice with good persistence.

The aromatic and clean 2023 Mauro is a textbook example of the house style—elegant and fresh while keeping the juiciness and fine tannins, the integrated oak and the precise and defined finish. The tannins are round and elegant, giving it a silky mouthfeel. It's a very easy-drinking Mauro that is versatile and can go with a wide range of dishes. It's mostly Tempranillo with 20% Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano, and it has good ripeness and 14.5% alcohol. It matured in barrels and foudres for 16 months. 300,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2023.
