Made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc (13.5% natural alcohol and yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare), this delicious, deep ruby/plum-colored wine offers hints of roasted almonds, black currants, sweet cherries, loamy soil, Christmas fruitcake and herbs. Round and supple textured with loads of fruit, this medium-bodied wine is ideal for drinking now and over the next 8-12 years.

Sweet, rich nose. A hint of black cherry. Sweet and a bit more awkward and chunky than the 2007. Lots of sweet oak influence. (JR)
Ripe dark plums. Very firm, dense structure but has the fruit to balance, just needs a lot more time. (JH)
