Vivid gold. Ripe pear, melon and honey on the highly fragrant nose and palate. Plush and broad but showing surprising energy thanks to juicy acidity and a jolt of white pepper. A bitter citrus pith note adds cut and grip to the sappy, very persistent finish, with the melon and honey notes repeating. Shows real vivacity for such a rich wine.

An outstanding white, Ferraton's 2012 Saint Joseph les Oliviers Blanc has terrific notes of apple, buttered citrus, and honeysuckle. Classic, straight, focused and clean, with a medium-bodied, balanced and fresh profile, it's a textbook Saint Joseph Blanc to drink over the coming 3-4 years, although I've no doubt it will evolve for longer.
Bright gold. Complex aromas and flavors of pear nectar, passion fruit, lemon rind and white flowers. Concentrated, dense and focused, showing a lovely balance of richness and vivacity. Finishes with impressive focus and thrust and suave floral persistence.
Looking at the 2012 selections parcellaires releases, starting with the whites, the 2012 St.-Joseph Les Oliviers Blanc is a ripe, textured, borderline voluptuous white that offers notions of golden peaches, apricot, honey and stone fruit-like aromas and flavors.
