Score 92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2006

(a selection of the best lots from old vines at the bottom of the estate's Blanchots holding, including wine from barrel and in stainless steel tank) Pale, green-tinged color. Aromas of minerals and sexy, toasty oak. Impressively intense flavors of citrus fruits, liquefied rock and toast; conveys an almost saline impression of extract. Finishes very long and very subtle. Michel Laroche's intention with this wine is "to push Chablis as far as possible in terms of minerality and intensity." Also tasted: Chablis Laroche.

Creamy, lemony, bit of oak. A bit of playing to the gallery here. Not as pure a Chablis as, say, Blanchot and Les Clos. Astringent. (JR)
