Surprised by how deep the colour is at 15 years old, definitely heading from pale grey to rich gold, lovely grassy aromatics on the nose though, and good freshness through the palate, excellent grip and freshness. Apricot pit on the finish, with smoked almonds. Shows that Pessac Léognan can age, in its drinking window, not too long ahead. Philippe Gervoson owner.

A stunningly rich nose of melons, honeysuckle, pineapple and orange rind are followed by a fresh, well-proportioned, medium to full-bodied dry white Graves to drink over the next decade or more.
Lemon yellow, floral, slightly exotic fruit, more richness than many and good ripeness backed by good acidity, good broad style. Drink 2012-16.
About the producer
Known as La Rivette prior to the late 19th century, this property is owned by the Gervoson family (best known for the Bonne Maman brand). They farm 75 hectares, with around seven of those dedicated to white grapes.
