The 2001 Viñedo Chadwick is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Puente Alto, Maipo, and was aged for 18 months in new French barrels. This was a cool year when ripening was slow across the region, allowing the tannins to develop nicely. Dark, garnet red in hue. The aromatic profile features dried flowers and black tea along with balsamic notes. In the mouth, it’s polished with a refined texture, juicy expression and a kick of flavor at the end, enhancing the aromas of wet leaf, caramel and licorice.

Very deep crimson with a slightly raw note on the nose. The very opulent, sweet and velvety on the palate. Rather a disjunction between nose and palate. Finished a bit suddenly. (JR)
Fashioned from Maipo Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2001 Vinedo Chadwick is by far the greatest wine I have tasted from Errazuriz. Its complex aromatics are reminiscent of freshly laid road tar, spices, chocolate, licorice, and sweet blackberries. On the palate, this medium to full-bodied wine is fleshy, exceptionally elegant, detailed, and intricate. An assortment of well-ripened dark fruits are interspersed with spices in this effort’s personality as well as in its long – fine, suave tannin-filled – finish.
