2003 Gevrey Chambertin Lavaux St Jacques V V

(from vines planted in 1900, according to Laurent) Deep red. Fresh aromas of black cherry, menthol and mint. Sweet and silky but at the same time tightly coiled, with firm acidity giving shape to the black raspberry, blackberry and roast coffee flavors. Quite vibrant and long, with excellent lift. Very well-judged acidification here, but there's also a hint of greenness lurking.
