Lovely, complete, lively, very white bordeaux but delivers lots of fruit. Rich and round – already quite open and beguiling. Quite evolved but lots of clean lanolin waxy pleasure. Long. Really delicious wine. And not a silly price. (JR)

A top-notch effort from proprietress Helene Garcin, Haut-Bergey’s 2004 exhibits an evolved, cedary, smoky, tobacco, and sweet cherry-scented bouquet offered in a medium-bodied, supple-textured style. It is not as big or forceful as the 2005 nor as structured as the 2006, but rather it is evolved, seductive, and ideal for drinking over the next 7-8 years.

About the producer

1-1
Haut Bergey

Since Paul Garcin took over running this estate in 2014, it has become one of Pessac-Léognan’s most exciting addresses. Biodynamic and with a minimalist approach, Ch. Haut-Bergey makes pure and expressive wines that offer both great value and a taste of the modern Bordeaux.
