Good full, bright red. More perfumed aromas of raspberry, leather and game. Finer-grained than the basic village offering, with riper acidity framing but not hardening the flavors of red fruits and smoke. Still a bit youthfully imploded but this is precise and vibrant wine with lovely length and lift. I never would have guessed 2007.

Highly aromatic nose offers cherry, minerals and leather; a bit less black than the village wine. Then juicier and fresher in the mouth, with very good definition to the flavors of redcurrant, licorice and leather. More stylish than the village wine, but there's also plenty of volume here. Finishes juicy and long, with ripe tannins.
