4 barrels made. Nose of bruised apple, white grapefruit and wild herbs. Slight reduction blows off after a few minutes. The palate is oily in texture with a spicy flavour profile. Cloves and anise are laced with butterscotch and fruit comes secondary in this wine. Worth a second look in a few months.Dec 2015

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, the 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières from Pernot Belicard sports an unusual nose that is more like a Sauvignon Blanc than a Chardonnay! There are certainly some pyrazine aromas here. There are geranium notes later. The palate is bitter on the entry, with moderate weight but continuing on from the aromatics, there is an underripe element to this Les Perrières that is vexing given its reputation.
