Medium red. Decadent red fruits and a leathery nuance on the nose. Supple, easygoing and sweet, showing modest energy and definition to its very fruity flavors of framboise and wild strawberry. Finishes with slightly dusty tannins. Not tired but not especially primary either. This wine is likely to evolve quickly.

Good dark red. Reduced, rather wild aromas of syrupy blackberry and raspberry. Ripe but dry, and showing less personality today than the Champs Chenys. A bit medicinal and sullen today and hard to taste. Finishes with serious tannins.
The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin la Brunelle is showing a little over-ripeness on the nose that denudes this Gevrey of some of its definition. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet ripe tannins. It has a grainy texture and segues into a masculine finish, but it needs to evolve more finesse by the time of bottling.
