Tasting notes
Score 86/100 · Drink 1996-2006, Robert Parker, Jan 1997

Deeper-colored than either the 1990 or 1989 (one has to go back to 1988 to find this intensity of color), Jasmin's 1991 exhibits sweet currant, cherry, and raspberry fruit in its fragrant aromatics. High acidity on the palate is perplexing, but the wine possesses good body, extraction, and ripeness, as well as some bitterness in the finish. Time will tell if it becomes better balanced, but my instincts suggest the acidity will become more marked, and the fruit less charming. Anticipated maturity: now-2006. Last tasted 7/96.
